Dick Armey’s FreedomWorks, which is a financial backer of the tea party movement, has endorsed Connie Mack. They had previously endorsed Adam Hasner in the race.
Max Pappas, the Executive Director of FreedomWorks PAC criticized George LeMieux, whom some consider Mack’s leading opponent, as a self-proclaimed “Charlie Crist Republican.” He claims LeMieux “worked with Democrats to advance subsidies, environmental mandates and multiple bills expanding the authority of government.”
He says that Mack, while serving in Congress “took bold positions to hold government accountable when very few others would, voting twice against the TARP bailout, fighting stimulus spending.”
FreedomWorks PAC has more than 102,000 Florida members.
